Our instructional framework has had our teachers working hard this year, and it shows every day. Here, students are singing along to a song teaching them the seven continents as a do-now for their social studies class. Students are up, active, and learning. Great things happening at A-C!

Witnessing the gains our students are showing this year in literacy is inspiring! The students are working hard every day to become great writers and readers. Today, this manifested in a discussion of the difference between a metaphor and a simile.

Thank you from the JHGB team to Jolene for sponsoring their jackets!

Will Betz is the 7-12 student of the month!
Will works hard in all of his classes and has really stepped up as a leader this year. He's taking more responsibility in the classroom, and doing more work than he ever has. His attitude toward school has vastly improved. In my classroom, he is always engaged and willing to do what needs to be done. Outside of the classroom, he is well respected by the student body and is a natural leader, even though he doesn't want to be. His peers gravitate toward him and he's been an excellent role model for our younger students.

Rylie Constantine-Schiffer is the K-6 student of the month! Rylie has been a rock in the 5th and 6th grade classroom. She is a hard worker who absolutely loves school and works hard to better herself in all areas. She goes above and beyond to help others in class and make sure that everyone is having a successful lesson. She even chooses to learn on her own time in areas that she feels she needs work on. Rylie is an exemplary student and a friend when needed.

Mrs. McTaggart is in the Panther Spotlight! Mrs. McTaggart is our assistant special education director. In addition to the ease with which she accomplishes that role, she has been working to master 4th grade ELA and math as well. Mrs. McTaggart is a leader in our school - serving on our district steering committee and helping to drive growth at SCSD#3. Her constant smile is uplifting for everyone she interacts with throughout the day. We are lucky to have her as a Panther!

Cord Harman is in the Panther Spotlight!
Cord is a hard worker and asks questions in order to make sure his understanding is correct.
I truly appreciate Cord as a young man. He is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen in class, even when it’s something that he’s not good at, he will work and work to perfect that skill.
Cord is always so kind and respectful, he sets a great example for others to follow!
Cord's impeccable discussion skills increase the rigor and level of our discussions. He uses phrases like "to add on" and "great point, but I see it a different way". Thank you, Cord, for your tone and demeanor in our classroom.
Cord has been a great addition to this class! He's willing to challenge his teachers and classmates to defend their positions while he defends his. This is definitely beneficial to classroom discussion!

Tate Bassett is in the Panther Spotlight!
Tate is very determined in class. His can-do attitude is contagious and he is a natural-born leader. Keep up the good work, Tate!!
Tate is such a joy to have in class. He asks questions and works hard to understand and master skills. His personality is unmatched, he makes us all laugh in the best way!

Dave Perry said it best - “It’s hard to find the words to say goodbye to an institution!” Carol - thank you for being a model Panther!
